About Donnatone
My name is Jono, and music is my passion!
My name is Jono Graham and Donnatone is my business name. Donnatone is a combination of Donnachaidh, the Scots Gaelic name of the Robertson clan (my grandmothers maiden name) and tone, something every musician should be persuing. When I started to build custom guitars under the "Donnachaidh" brand, I soon realised I was going to need something easier to spell for both word of mouth promotion and google SEO/web searches. Thus Donnatone was born.
As a musician and as a technology loving geek I started to diversify away from just guitars and started building effects pedals, and amps etc all whilst running a recording studio. Under the business name "Donnatone" I was able to provide a variety of services relating to my passions but I keep on coming back to guitars. Having come full circle I have decided to focus my efforts on 2 core passions: Guitars and Music Education. As a guitar tech based in Gore I am able to service all of Southland. I have a Bachelor of Music Degree and still teach and mentor others but there are a lot of guitars in Southland and very few people to service them. I still teach and mentor other musicians but find working on guitars to be extremely satisfying, almost therapeutic.
